Another good week

Friends we still have much work ahead but we have just completed a very strong week. We have again had people come to us and ask, "Can we help on the campaign?" Of course the answer is a resounding YES!
We have continued our canvassing. Each time we canvass there are several people who share wonderful positive messages that let us know OUR message in reaching the voters. We committed we were going directly to the voters; we have done that, and it is paying off.
As I said we still have 4 hard weeks ahead of us. Now is by no means the time to slow up. Just the opposite is true. Now is the time to know we are making a difference and so we have to renew our committment and push just a little harder.
We have several events coming up. Please check back every few days so you can participate as often as possible.
Thank you again for the prayers, hours of work, and statements of support and encouragement that have come from so many.

We must keep pushing

Friends, Supporters, Voters of House District 7
We are making history as we continue to get our message out and ganer support from the voters. Everywhere I go people are Thanking me for having the courage to run for this office. Over and over again we are hearing comments of encouragement and the voters are really getting excited; they are realizing they do have the power to effect change.
I have stated very clearly that Jean Reaves is not the candidate of special programs or special interests. It is time for all of the people to be respresented and House District 7 to have representation of inclusion.
The status quo has had a grip on this district for so long that even the endorsement agencies won't stand up for what is right. Many of them have recently come out and endorsed our opponent. They just acutomatically said we are endorsing the "incumbent". First I remind to you that she has NEVER faced the voters.
It is time for us to stand firm and agree not to be shaken. We must allow the voters to make thier choice. It is the voters who have the right to choose and control who they want to represent them.
We will continue bringing our message directly to the voters. I thank those of you who are speaking for us in so many ways in your neighborhoods, at your churches, as you assist us in our canvassing and as we participate in our own events and other public events.
And a special thank you to our prayer warriors who are offering this campaign and its many supporters up in prayer daily.
Always remember:
This campaign is about choice; this campaign is about empowering the voters to have thier voices heard through the power of the voting booth.
We must keep pushing on.....we have 16 days; we can not slow up now.
Thank you
Jean Reaves
It's Time to Vote

Friends, supporters and Voters of District 7
We in rural Northeastern North Carolina tend to be rooted in our traditions and hold election day with a special respect and dignity. Our upbringing gives us a sense of responsibility and pride in the election process.
Primary Day---May 6, 2008---is only 10 days away. It is ever so important that you cast your vote and with pride know that you are part of the process.
We have a new option this year for those of you who wish to fulfull your civic responsibility but yet break with tradition just a little; the General Assembly has approved One Stop Voting from April 17- May 3, 2008.
What this means is you can go to The Town of Halifax to the Halifax County Board of Election (old courthouse building) and vote April 17-May 3, 2008. What it also means is if you are not registered to vote that you can again go to the Halifax County Board of Elections and register and vote all at the same time.
This is a wonderful new option and somewhat takes excuses and barriers away. Hopefully many of you will take advantage of this opportunity if you are a shift worker or work out of town or just want to avoid the rush of election day. Saturday May 3 ( 8:30 a.m. till NOON) is also a great opportunity for college students to come home for the week-end and cast their vote.
And now I must ask you one more time to give me your all. It is so important that we get the vote out. We have many important elections that will be decided in this primary. Now is the time for the voters to speak. I encourage everyone to bow in prayer and ask for guidance as you consider the importance of the power of the ballot box. Remember your final vote is between you and God.
Please make every effort to conscienously encourage friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors, and church family to get out and vote. This election process has stirred excitement and anticipation but none of it counts till you go to the polls and cast your vote.
Thank you voters of House District 7 for the opportunity and experience of this campaign. You have recieved me warmly in your homes, businesses and throughout the community. You have shared with me your hopes and your frustrations and in some cases even your anger. We have asked God to guide this campaign and I know he has. I also know that God expects us to put feet on our prayers and it is time for us to do our part now as well.
Thank you and God bless all of you
